Welcome Home! BARCS' Big Move

Surprise! Welcome home, BARCS!

Behind the scenes on Tuesday, May 5, the staff at BARCS had been busy working on a very special project… our official big move to our new shelter home on Giles Road in Baltimore’s Cherry Hill community.

The moving process began early that morning; our boxes and equipment were picked up from the old shelter and brought to the new one at 2490 Giles Road. In the late afternoon, we patiently moved the few animals still residing in the shelter to our new home. This momentous project was done with very limited staffing due to our commitment to the health and safety of our team. We are incredibly grateful to those foster families for helping clear the shelter both for the COVID-19 quarantine and for the move.

Although our building may have changed, one thing will always remain the same at BARCS: our mission to serve 12,000 animals each year with open doors and open hearts... always.

Thank you for opening your hearts so that we can continue to open our doors to animals in our new shelter home.

***As a reminder, our new location is still operating by appointment only. We are not able to welcome visitors at this time. For information about adoption, surrendering or our modified programs under the COVID-19 quarantine, please visit www.barcs.org/covid-19.
