How Field Trip Changed Our Lives
Dear BARCS Supporter,
My husband and I adopted "Field Trip" back in March from BARCS. When we got him, he was almost nine years old; his fee was waived thanks to the "Love Lasts Forever" program. Trip, as we now call him, had been in and out of BARCS for the better part of two years, and he had a thick stack of papers that made up his extensive medical record. It seemed that no one wanted to give this sweet, older dog a chance.
We took Trip home the same day we met him, and to say he has changed our lives is an understatement. He has enriched our days with so much love and goofiness—we absolutely adore him. His favorite activities are napping with us on the couch (preferably in a cozy sweater), sitting on the deck enjoying the afternoon sunshine or playing with his stuffed cow. At his first vet visit, they helped us get him medication to control his arthritis as well as supplements to help his fur regrow from years of neglect. Now, he is a happy, active boy with a striped coat that gets compliments wherever he goes!
Trip is beloved by everyone who meets him, and he has taught us the true value of living in the moment. I cherish each walk with my older boy, and I feel grateful to have provided him with a loving, comfortable home for his golden years.
