Most Beautiful Pup Bride: Miss Pippa!

In celebration of this year’s Dog Wedding adorable bride, Miss Pretty Girl Pippa, let's delve into her heartwarming story. Pippa, previously known as Pretty Girl, arrived at BARCS through no fault of her own when her previous family could no longer care for her. Like many shelter animals, Pippa faced an uncertain future. Feeling tired and unwell, she caught the eye of her now-mom, Kailynn, who decided to foster her. As you might have guessed, it turned into a foster fail, but what a lovely way to fall—in love! Pippa has become the apple of her mom's eye and a shining star at BARCS events, where she charms everyone she meets, she is that girl!

Let's shift the spotlight to Pippa's mom and soak in the heartening story:

“Pippa, formerly known as Pretty Girl, is a senior lady that I fostered and eventually adopted from BARCS upon discovering she had mammary carcinoma in March 2022. Initially given 6-8 months to live, she has surpassed her prognosis with about 3 months of chemotherapy and nearly 2 years of love, care, and plenty of treats. She is the most spirited senior lady, and I am immensely grateful for her and the BARCS community.”

“I began volunteering at BARCS in January of 2023, and I adore the opportunity to give back to the animals and care for them in the same way Pippa was cared for. You might have come across the email and posts about the upcoming dog wedding in early February, where Pippa is the bride. We are thrilled to pawty and contribute to supporting the animals at BARCS!”

“Lastly, I am not only grateful to spend another year with my little best friend Pippa, but I am also thankful to the dedicated staff and fellow volunteers for their commitment to helping the animals in BARCS’ care. Thank you for all that you do!”

And a heartfelt thank you for recognizing the gentle soul of Pippa and providing her with the joy and care of a loving home.

Pippa is tying the knot with her best friend, Munch, in a beautiful ceremony at The Lord Baltimore Hotel tomorrow for the Third Annual Dog Wedding. As part of this wonderful fundraiser, she's lending a paw to her shelter friends with her charm and presence. And just like any newlyweds, the happy couple would greatly appreciate your donations to the Puppymoon Fund, supporting the Love Lasts Forever program for senior dogs like Pippa this year.
