Seattle

Baltimore City Animal Control received a call about a young puppy that was found lost and injured. Seattle, as we named her, was unable to walk or move around. She was hunched over, frozen with pain. Due to the severity of her condition, officers rushed her to a partner Franky Fund clinic for emergency care.

X-rays revealed the cause of baby Seattle’s terrible pain: both of her femurs and her hip were fractured—injuries that are consistent with being kicked very hard or hit by a very heavy object.

And yet, with no reason to, she still crawled and clung to humans for help.

Seattle received emergency surgery to repair the many fractures in her body. Though her recovery would be long, her prognosis was good. While she was at the hospital, one of the technicians fell in love with Seattle and offered to foster her. Once she was well enough, Seattle was adopted into their home.
