Lost & Found Pets at BARCS
The Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS) is responsible for handling lost/found animals found in Baltimore City. However, there are additional area shelters that also take in lost/found animals. If you are outside of BARCS' service area or are unsure whom to call, please refer to this list of local area shelters.

*Please note that the legal lost animal hold in the State of Maryland is 72 hours. After that time, lost/found animals are eligible for any outcome the shelter deems best for the animal.
