Our Privacy Statement
(Updated 5/13/24) The Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS) respects your privacy. We do not share, rent or sell the personal information of our online and offline donors.
BARCS collects and maintains certain personal information about you when you make a donation, adopt a pet, buy a ticket to a BARCS event, subscribe to one of our online newsletters or sign up to volunteer with our organization. Such information may include your name, mailing address, and e-mail address; it may also include a phone number and any other information collected in the forms.
You may opt-out of receiving communications from us by sending an email to us at media@barcs.org with your complete name, address and email address. If you have questions or concerns about the Privacy Policy, or to request a record of your information, you can contact our Development Department during normal business hours, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or by email at give@barcs.org.
BARCS does not collect your IP address or any information that cannot identify you personally when you visit our website.
To protect the privacy of donors and to secure online transactions, all BARCS giving, eCommerce and event registration pages have been site security confirmed and have been issued Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates delivering both 256-bit encryption and the True Site trust mark providing third-party website identity validation. An SSL certificate ensures the content provided between a donor’s browser and the BARCS’s web servers are private and secure.
