Save an Underdog this Giving Tuesday
Urgent Update: Giving Tuesday Match Extended After Late-Night Announcement (Wednesday, 12/4/2024)
Following Tuesday night’s urgent announcement about 100 new animals entering BARCS in just 48 hours, overwhelming our shelter and pushing us to the brink of space, we have some hopeful news to share. After seeing the announcement, our longtime friends at the Nancy Sherertz Family Foundation have pledged an additional $10,000 to extend their Giving Tuesday match. Now, every donation through Friday, 12/6 will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $60,000.
These funds are critical to caring for the large adult dogs and other animals now filling our kennels, many of whom arrived scared, confused, and in urgent need of medical care. Your donation will provide nourishing food, medical treatment, and the chance for recovery in a safe, loving environment.
We’re anticipating a bustling adoption lobby this week, but for those unable to foster or adopt, there’s still a way to help: your gift.
BARCS’ goal is to give everyone a second chance at love and a new home so that they can live out their life to its fullest. So, this year, BARCS is “Giving Tuesday” to those “underdogs:” the ones who might be forgotten, given up on or ignored. At BARCS, those animals are visible, revered and honored for the lives they’ve endured. We believe with all our hearts they are worthy of a chance.
This holiday season, longtime friends of BARCS, Nancy Sherertz Family Foundation, have pledged again this year to match all Giving Tuesday donations dollar-for-dollar up to $60,000 to prove to those underdogs (and -cats) that they are worthy of a loving home.
Your gift today of $10, $20, $50 or whatever you can comfortably afford will give homeless animals a second chance so that they never live another day without medical care, shelter and, most importantly, love.
