Health and Pets- Harley's Sweet Update
Did you know that your pets can benefit your health? They take care of us as much as we take care of them. Pets can make a huge difference for our health, both physically and emotionally.
Interacting with pets can reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and improve cardiovascular health. Pets also encourage regular physical activity, whether it's walking a dog or playing with a cat, which can lead to a more active and healthier lifestyle.
Their presence can also help combat feelings of loneliness and depression by providing companionship, unconditional love and lifting our spirits. The bond between humans and pets can give us a sense of purpose and fulfillment, enhancing our overall well-being and happiness. So next time you're cuddling with your furry friend, remember that they're not just cute companions - they're also helping you stay healthy and happy.
And what better example of this than the heartwarming “Happy Tail” of Harley, formerly known as Buttercup. Harley came to BARCS after she was found wandering alone through the city and now she is thriving alongside her loving family. Read the sweet update:
“ Our Harley girl is the sweetest, bestest girl! She’s so gentle with my grandbabies. We are still working on her and the cats, but as of late, I’ve become very hopeful!!!
“I didn’t realize how much I needed this girl in my life. She’s helped improve my mental health, and she has given me a sense of purpose caring for her that I didn’t realize I needed. My hubby is head over heels in love with her too. She has definitely completed our family! I’m forever grateful to BARCS Animal Shelter!”
Thank you to Harley’s adopter for sharing this awesome Happy Tail with us, and to you reading this for taking the time to read Harley’s story.
